Claude Team and Enterprise Pricing: Standard vs Premium Seats

October 15, 2026. Claude Team costs $25 per Standard seat and $125 per Premium seat each month, or $20 and $100 a month when billed annually, for teams of 2 to 150 people. Claude Enterprise is priced differently: $20 a seat per month, billed annually with a 20-seat minimum, plus usage charged at API rates. That second model changes the maths for any company with heavy users, so this guide shows what each plan includes, what a real team pays, and where the bill grows. We build AI workflows for businesses and help companies get recommended inside assistants like Claude through AI search optimization, so this guide lays out the published numbers you need to choose a plan.

Standard or Premium: who needs which seat

Both seats include Claude Code, Cowork and the rest of the Team features above. The difference is how much work fits before a limit, plus Fable, which the pricing table lists only for Premium. Anthropic's limits reset on a rolling five-hour window with weekly limits on top, and chat, Claude Code and Cowork all draw from the same allowance. People who chat, draft and research a few times a day rarely need more than Standard. People who run Claude Code or long agentic Cowork tasks all day are the ones who hit limits; the consumption guide notes that Claude Code and Cowork have higher token intensity than chat.

A sensible default is Standard for everyone and Premium only for the people who prove they need it after a few weeks. Here is what a 10-person team pays:

Mix of seatsMonthly billingAnnual billing
10 Standard$250 a month$200 a month ($2,400 a year)
8 Standard + 2 Premium$450 a month$360 a month ($4,320 a year)
5 Standard + 5 Premium$750 a month$600 a month ($7,200 a year)
10 Premium$1,250 a month$1,000 a month ($12,000 a year)

Annual billing saves 20 percent but commits you for the year, so it can make sense to start on monthly billing and switch once the seat mix is stable.

Claude Enterprise pricing

Enterprise flips the model. Instead of usage bundled into the seat, you pay a $20 seat price and then pay for what people actually use:

  • Seat: $20 per user per month, billed annually, with a 20-seat minimum, so the floor is $4,800 a year before any usage.
  • Usage: billed at API rates. Current rates per million tokens are $4 input and $20 output for Opus 5.5, $2 and $10 for Sonnet 5.5, $0.10 and $0.50 for Haiku 5.5 on prompts up to 100,000 tokens, and $10 and $50 for Fable 5.1.
  • Buying routes: self-serve (card or ACH, annual) or sales-assisted, which adds invoicing and net terms, AWS Marketplace, tiered incentives on committed spend, trials and customer success support at certain spend levels.

Enterprise adds the controls larger companies need: spend limits by user, group and organization, role-based access, SCIM, audit logs, a Compliance API, custom data retention, network-level access control and IP allowlisting, a HIPAA-ready offering, domain capture and Claude Security in beta. Team is paid by credit card, with no ACH or invoicing, and the pricing page lists SCIM, audit logs, the Compliance API and domain capture as Enterprise features.

Team vs Enterprise: what you actually pay

Take a 25-person company where 5 people code with Claude every day and 20 mostly chat. Using Anthropic's own average for Claude Code on the API, about $13 per developer per active day, and assuming 20 working days:

  • Team, annual: 20 Standard seats at $20 plus 5 Premium seats at $100 comes to $900 a month, with usage capped by the seats.
  • Enterprise: 25 seats at $20 is $500 a month, plus about $1,300 of coding usage for the five developers ($13 x 20 days x 5), plus whatever the 20 chat users consume at API rates.

On those assumptions Enterprise costs more, but its spend limits let you set each group's budget. Team is cheaper and predictable, but heavy users hit limits and then need usage credits, also billed at API rates. A company with fewer than 20 people would still pay for 20 Enterprise seats because of the minimum.

How spend is controlled

On Team, the seat allowance is the ceiling. To let people work past it, an admin turns on extra usage and sets spend limits. On Enterprise, Anthropic's consumption guide recommends starting with group and per-user limits, because an organization-wide limit, once hit, affects everyone at the same time. It also warns that giving everyone Claude Code and Cowork on day one is the fastest way to generate unexpected consumption. A few details worth knowing before rollout:

  • Individual limits override group limits, and a member with no limit anywhere has no cap.
  • Pooled group budgets give a team one shared monthly amount, with alerts to billing admins at 50, 75, 95 and 100 percent.
  • Organization limits send alerts at 75 and 90 percent, and limits reset at 00:00 UTC on the first of the month.
  • Admins can set an organization default model, restrict which models are available and cap the effort level; the guide calls the default model one of the most direct consumption levers.

Anthropic's own example of measuring value is a call-prep skill that costs $0.90 per run against $20 of value, a 20x return. Doing that arithmetic per workflow is a simple way to show a finance team what the spend buys.

Claude Team vs ChatGPT Business

The two business plans now cost the same per seat: $25 or $125 a month, $20 or $100 on annual billing, with Standard and Premium seats on both. The real differences are in the limits, the extra-usage model and the ecosystem. Our breakdown of ChatGPT Business and Enterprise pricing covers OpenAI's side, and our guide to Claude Code pricing covers the individual Pro and Max plans that many developers use instead of a Team seat.

Which plan fits

  1. 2 to 19 people: Team, Standard seats by default, Premium for daily Claude Code or Cowork users.
  2. 20 to 150 people with light usage: Team is usually cheaper; check whether you need SCIM, audit logs or invoicing, which only Enterprise has.
  3. Regulated work or 150+ people: Enterprise, with group spend limits set before rollout.
  4. Startups: check our AI startup credits comparison and Claude for Startups first, and read what the Team API credits cover.

Frequently Asked Questions

A Standard seat costs $25 a month on monthly billing or $20 a month on annual billing. A Premium seat costs $125 a month or $100 on annual billing and gives 5x the usage of a Standard seat. Team is for 2 to 150 users and seat types can be mixed.

Enterprise costs $20 per seat per month, billed annually, with a 20-seat minimum, plus usage charged at API rates. Total cost therefore depends on which models people use and how much, and Anthropic lets admins set spend limits by user, group and organization.

Both seats include Claude Code, Cowork and the other Team features. Premium seats give 5x the usage of Standard seats, and Anthropic lists Fable, its most advanced model, for Team only on Premium seats, at 50 percent of weekly limits.

Not usually for heavy users. An Enterprise seat costs $20, the same as an annual Standard Team seat, but every token is billed at API rates on top. Teams with many light chat users and strict compliance needs may still prefer Enterprise for its controls.

Yes. Anthropic's pricing page lists up to $500 a month in pooled API credits for building on the Claude Platform on Team plans. Enterprise plans do not list monthly API credits.

Yes, per seat. Both charge $25 a month for a Standard seat and $125 for a Premium seat on monthly billing, or $20 and $100 on annual billing. Limits, extra-usage pricing and included tools differ.
