October 15, 2026. Gemini Enterprise, Google's AI assistant and agent platform for work, starts at $21 per seat per month for the Business edition, which comes with a 30-day trial. The Standard and Plus editions, built for companies with stricter security and compliance needs, launched in October 2025 with annual plans starting at $30 per seat per month, according to TechCrunch's report of Google's launch pricing; Google's own pages now send buyers of those editions to sales, with a free 30-day trial of Plus. What a seat buys is a share of a pooled daily quota, and usage beyond it can be billed as overage. We help companies get recommended inside AI assistants through AI search optimization, so this guide sets out what each edition includes and where the bill grows.

Prices and limits come from Google's Business edition page, the Gemini Enterprise FAQ, the editions comparison and the quotas and overages documentation, all read 15 October 2026, plus TechCrunch's launch report. Google does not publish a current list price for Standard or Plus, so treat $30 as the launch figure and confirm your quote.

Gemini Enterprise editions and prices
| Edition | Price | Seats | Storage per user, pooled | Built for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business | From $21 a seat a month; 30-day trial | 1 to 500 in the editions table | 25 GiB | Small businesses and teams, no IT setup |
| Standard | From $30 a seat a month at launch (annual); now through sales | 1 or more | 30 GiB | Security and compliance needs |

| Pay-as-you-go | Usage at Agent Platform prices, storage $5 per GiB a month | 1 seat minimum | Pay for what you use | Variable use, invoiced billing accounts only |
| Frontline | Add-on | Needs 150 or more Standard or Plus users | 2 GiB | Frontline workers |
One inconsistency is worth knowing: the editions table lists the Business edition for 1 to 500 users, while the FAQ describes it as for teams of up to 300. If you are near that size, ask Google which limit applies before you commit.
What the Business edition leaves out
Business is the cheapest way in, and it covers more than the price suggests: permission-aware enterprise search, grounding in Google Search and the web, Deep Research, image and video generation, prebuilt agent actions, building and publishing custom no-code agents and skills, Gemini Notebook, and basic agent governance. According to Google's editions table, it does not include:
- The full data connector ecosystem, only select connectors.
- Priority access to the latest Gemini models.
- Bringing your own full-code agents built outside Gemini Enterprise, or the Agent Marketplace.
- Data Insights, and what Google labels enterprise-grade security and compliance.
- The AI developer tools.
The FAQ adds that Standard and Plus include higher quotas, unlimited seats, access to third-party agents and Gemini Code Assist. If you need any of those, the $21 starting price is not your real starting price.

Quotas: what a seat actually buys
Gemini Enterprise does not give each user a private allowance. Quotas are pooled across all users of the same edition in a project and location, they reset daily at midnight Pacific time, and one heavy user can draw down the pool for everyone. Google's own example: ten Standard seats share 1,600 assistant queries a day, and if one person uses 500, the other nine share 1,100.
| Daily quota per seat | Standard | Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Assistant queries | 160 | 200 |
| Deep Research runs | 3 | 10 |
| No-code agents created | 1 | 10 |
| Images generated | 5 | 10 |
| Video generation requests | 2 | 3 |
| AI developer tools credit (per month) | $10 | $15 |
The developer tools credit, which covers Antigravity and Android Studio, is enforced as a weekly pool: Google divides the monthly figure by four and multiplies it by the number of licensed seats. Frontline seats are far smaller, at 20 or 40 assistant queries a day and 2 GiB of storage.
Overages: the part that is not fixed
Under the billing controls Google introduced on 17 August 2026, a Standard or Plus customer that reaches its pooled quota can turn on overages and keep working at pay-as-you-go rates. Three rules shape the cost:
- Overages need an invoiced Cloud Billing account and at least one active subscription that is not a free trial.
- Storage beyond the shared pool is billed at $5 per GiB per month, prorated.
- Extra assistant queries, Deep Research, image and video generation and agent use are billed at Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform prices, which sit on a separate price list.
The Pay-as-you-go edition takes that model all the way: no quotas at all, every use billed. It suits teams with spiky usage, but with no quota ceiling, spend needs close monitoring.
Gemini Enterprise vs Google Workspace with Gemini
The two are easy to confuse. Google Workspace business plans already include Gemini inside the apps: on Google's pricing page with an annual commitment, Business Starter is $7 per user a month with Gemini in Gmail and chat with Gemini, Business Standard is $14 with Gemini in Gmail, Docs, Meet and more, and Business Plus is $22. Gemini Enterprise is a separate subscription for search across company data, agents and connectors. The developer platform, Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, the evolution of Vertex AI, is separate again and billed by consumption, according to the FAQ.
If your team mainly wants help drafting in Gmail and Docs, a Workspace plan may be all you need. Gemini Enterprise earns its price when you want an assistant that searches across many systems and runs agents on company data.
Gemini Enterprise vs ChatGPT Business and Claude Team
On entry price, Gemini's Business edition at $21 a seat, which TechCrunch reported as an annual plan price, is $1 more than an annual standard seat on ChatGPT Business or Claude Team. ChatGPT Business costs $25 a seat a month, or $20 billed annually, with Premium seats at $125 or $100; our ChatGPT Business pricing guide has the details. Claude Team matches those seat prices, as our Claude Team pricing guide shows. Microsoft takes a different route, selling Copilot as an add-on to Microsoft 365, which our Microsoft 365 Copilot pricing guide covers. The real comparison is the quota model: Google pools a daily allowance across the team, while OpenAI and Anthropic give each seat its own usage limits, with pooled credits on top.
On data, Google's FAQ says prompts and outputs are not used to train Google models, and that it does not sell customer data or use it for advertising.
Which edition to choose
- A small team on Google tools: start the Business trial at $21 a seat and check whether select connectors cover your systems.
- Full-code agents, all connectors, the Agent Marketplace or enterprise-grade security: Standard or Plus through sales; try Plus free for 30 days first.
- Heavy or unpredictable usage: compare Plus with overages against the Pay-as-you-go edition, and monitor spend either way.
- Frontline staff: the Frontline add-on, once you have 150 or more Standard or Plus users.
- Mainly email and documents: check whether a Workspace plan with Gemini already covers it.
Buying seats is one half of the AI question. The other is whether these assistants recommend your company when buyers ask them for a supplier, which is what our AI search optimization work is for.
