Google AI Mode Home Services Booking: How Pros Get In

November 6, 2026. Google's AI Mode now links US homeowners from a search to a booking or quote request through partners including Angi, Thumbtack, Housecall Pro and Jobber, with ServiceTitan "coming soon". Google's Robby Stein announced it on X on November 4. For a plumber, HVAC shop or cleaner, those direct links run through the software or marketplace you already use. Jobber and Housecall Pro say the requests carry no lead fee, while Google's own Local Services Ads charge for every valid lead, booking requests included. Google has not said whether a partner is required to be recommended, and its help pages say it may also call a business directly.

What Google announced, and what partners added

  1. Direct links in AI Mode. Stein wrote: "Today, we're making it even easier to research & book home services with direct links in AI Mode through partners like" Angi, Thumbtack, Housecall Pro and Jobber, "(and @ServiceTitan coming soon). It's available now in the U.S."
  2. US only, for now. Search Engine Roundtable confirms: "This is available within the United States only right now."
  3. AI Mode can also phone businesses. Google's help page says that when businesses have limited information online, "Google can make calls on your behalf to gather the details you need."

Stein's post does not say how AI Mode chooses which businesses to show, and it does not mention fees. The eligibility and fee details below come from each partner's own pages, Google's help pages and Search Engine Journal.

How each partner gets you into AI Mode

PartnerWhere the request landsLead fee, as statedWhat you need
JobberThe request or booking form you assign to Google"no lead fees"Active, paid US subscription (no trials), "Help clients find my business" on, full address, a Google Business Profile connected to Jobber at the same address, a form connected to Google
Housecall ProThe pro's Housecall Pro Inbox"no associated lead fees or bidding"A Housecall Pro account; the release says "coming soon to eligible US customers"; the partner page says no Google Business Profile is needed
AngiThe pro's Angi profile, where the homeowner requests a quoteNot mentioned in Angi's releaseNot published

Jobber. Its help article, updated November 4, says the integration "is available at no extra cost to businesses in the United States with an active, paid Jobber subscription. Trial accounts can't appear in Google AI Mode." You need "Help clients find my business" switched on, a complete address, a Google Business Profile connected to Jobber "at the same address", and a request or booking form connected to Google; Jobber connects your default request form automatically. When Google matches the profile, "it adds a Book Online button to your profile that links to your Jobber form," which Jobber says "usually" happens "within a few days." Jobber says "two things can help Google AI Mode recommend it more often": connecting "a booking form to Google instead of a request form, so people can book a time with you directly," and collecting client reviews regularly, because "Reviews help Google AI Mode decide which businesses to recommend." Its release says more than 100,000 businesses use Jobber, and claims AI Mode reaches "more than 1 billion users per month globally" (Jobber's figure).

Housecall Pro. Its release says "all Housecall Pro users will be eligible to appear in AI Mode at no additional cost" and that the request goes "straight to the selected Pro's Housecall Pro Inbox." The same release says the integration "is coming soon to eligible US customers," while the partner page says "Every Pro is auto-enrolled" and "Your info pulls in automatically, including available time slots from your calendar." We read the dated release as the timing statement. Housecall Pro says it is trusted by more than 200,000 home service professionals. Co-founder Roland Ligtenberg put its pitch this way: "The homeowner asking Google for a plumber hires whoever can come today, and now that's one of our Pros."

Angi. Its release says a homeowner who selects an Angi pro in AI Mode is "directed to that professional's profile on Angi, where they can learn more about the pro and request a quote." It does not mention fees. Thumbtack, per Search Engine Journal, "did not announce an AI Mode plan via press releases as of Nov. 4."

Google's Local Services Ads help page is plain: "With Local Services Ads, you pay for valid leads." A valid lead includes "a booking request from a customer (United States and Canada only)" and a missed call during business hours where the customer "stays on the line for more than 20 seconds." Google says lead prices "may vary depending on your location, the job type, the type of lead, or your bidding mode."

The partner links work differently. Jobber and Housecall Pro say there is no lead fee on top of the subscription you already pay, but the links depend on Google recommending you, and Google has not said how it chooses. In our view that makes AI Mode a second channel to set up, not a reason to switch off ads that already book jobs. For what those paid leads cost by channel, see home services lead cost and Google LSA missed call charges.

When AI Mode calls your business instead

Google's help page says AI Mode can research "home services, such as electricians, tree cutting, or exterior cleaning," and "If a business does not have its information listed online, such as the earliest available appointment or current inventory in stock, Google will make a call to get those answers for you." Searchers are told "call results (if calls are made) can take up to 30 minutes." The feature is "available in English to signed-in users over 18."

Google's Business Profile help on automated calls covers requests customers make in Google Search or Maps generally, and spells out what that means on your side:

  • "Google might contact your business on their behalf through an automated phone call to complete the request."
  • "If your business works with online booking providers, Google may book through the partner or by calling your business directly."
  • "These calls are monitored and recorded for quality assurance."
  • In the US the feature covers "all states except Indiana, Louisiana, Minnesota, Montana, and Nebraska," so 5 states are left out.
  • You can opt out "over the phone or change your Business Profile settings."

So a shop with no partner integration can still be reached by Google, by phone. In our view, a Google call that rings out while you are on a job is a request you never see.

What it means for operators

Our suggestions, by platform:

  • On Jobber: check the four requirements in Company Settings and under Marketing. Pick your address from the suggestions "so it matches Google Maps exactly," and make the phone number and website URL match your Google Business Profile. Connect a booking form rather than a request form if you can take bookings, and turn on "Require assessment booking approval" if you want to vet each assessment booking first.
  • On Housecall Pro: confirm your account is eligible and keep the calendar current, since the partner page says time slots pull in from it. The same page says "An automated response goes out when requests come in," so check what that reply says.
  • On Angi: the Angi profile is the landing page, so complete it. Ask your Angi rep how fees apply to quote requests that start in AI Mode before you count the channel as cheap.
  • On none of these: keep your Google Business Profile hours, services and phone number accurate; Google says it calls when information is not listed online. Decide whether to keep or opt out of Google's automated calls.
  • Answer the phone. In our view a booking, a quote request and a call from Google all deserve a fast reply; our speed to lead page covers what the research says about the first hour.
  • Log the source. Jobber says an AI Mode request "comes into Jobber the same way any other online booking or request does," so we would ask new customers where they found you and record it for a month before judging the channel.

What is still unknown

Google has not said how AI Mode ranks providers or whether a business must use a partner to be recommended. Search Engine Journal reported no Thumbtack announcement as of November 4, and we could not find Thumbtack's terms. Angi's release does not say whether its usual fees apply, Housecall Pro gives no date beyond "coming soon," and we found no date for ServiceTitan.
