October 15, 2026. xAI, now part of SpaceX, launched The X Subscription on October 12: one plan that bundles Grok, Grok Bot, the Cursor coding editor and X Premium at five prices, free, $8, $30, $100 and $200 a month, according to its announcement. For a development team the number that matters is the seat price. Team seats cost the same as the individual plans, so a Premium seat is $30 a month, against the $40 a user that Cursor charged for its Teams plan as late as October 5. Five developers move from $200 to $150 a month, but Claude and other third-party models inside Cursor are billed on top, at API list prices.

Key numbers
| Item | Number |

| X Subscription Ultra (50x Plus usage) | $200 a month |
| Cursor Teams before October 12 (Internet Archive capture of 5 October) | $40 per user a month |
| Cursor Pro before October 12 | $20 a month |
| Five developers on Premium seats ($200 on the old Cursor Teams plan) | $150 a month |
Plan prices read on 15 October 2026 from xAI's announcement and pricing page and Cursor's pricing page; Cursor's earlier prices from an Internet Archive capture of 5 October 2026.
What the five plans include
- Free, $0. Daily access to Grok, a starter allowance for Cursor's coding agents and standard X.
- Plus, $8 a month. More Grok and Cursor usage, plus an X checkmark, creator tools and fewer ads. Cursor's pricing page notes that only Grok models are available on this plan.
- Premium, $30 a month. Four times the Plus usage, Grok Bot, and the benefits of SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and X Premium+, which xAI says previously cost $90 a month combined.
- Super, $100 a month. 15 times the Plus usage.
- Ultra, $200 a month. 50 times the Plus usage.
The usage pool covers Grok models in the Grok apps, the Grok tab on X and Cursor, and xAI says each plan includes at least twice as much coding usage with its own models as the comparable Cursor plan. Third-party models remain available in Cursor on Premium and above, billed separately at API list prices through top-ups. Teslarati reported the same five prices and usage multiples.

What changes for Cursor teams
Before the launch, Cursor's pricing page listed Pro at $20 a month and Teams at $40 a user a month, in an Internet Archive capture from October 5. The same page now shows the X Subscription tiers. Team plans on the X pricing page start at $30 a seat for Premium, with centralized billing, usage analytics, team-wide privacy settings and SAML or OIDC single sign-on, and you can mix seat types. xAI says that is cheaper per seat than the older Cursor Teams plan and includes three times the coding usage.
- Five Premium seats: $150 a month. Against $200 at the old Cursor Teams price.
- Five Super seats: $500 a month. 15 times the Plus usage per seat, for heavier agent use.
- Five Ultra seats: $1,000 a month. The top tier at the same per-seat price as an individual Ultra plan.
Existing SuperGrok, Cursor and X Premium subscribers keep their plans, prices and features unless they choose to switch, and switching comes with a prorated refund of the old plan. Cursor's pricing page now lists only the X Subscription tiers, so a new customer who wants Claude or another third-party model inside Cursor starts at Premium, $30 a month, plus API top-ups.
What it means for agencies and dev teams
- Price the seats and the tokens separately. If your developers mostly use Claude inside Cursor, the $10 a seat saving can disappear into API top-ups. Pull a month of model usage before you move a team.
- Keep the old plan if it is cheaper for you. Nothing forces a switch, and the option appears in billing settings as it rolls out.
- Test the models your team will actually use. Model access inside Cursor has kept changing since the acquisition; our AI vendor risk note covers the OpenAI side.
- Grok Bot comes with every seat from Premium up. Our Grok Bot brief covers what those agents do for an agency.
Grok now ships with every paid X plan, so more of your buyers will have it open when they ask an assistant for a shortlist of vendors.
