LeadCart Lifetime Deal: What Happened and What to Buy Instead

Affiliate disclosure: some links in this article are partner links. If you start a paid plan through them, imisofts may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We only recommend tools we actually use to run client campaigns.

The short answer

You cannot buy the LeadCart lifetime deal. AppSumo's own catalogue search returns "Sorry, we couldn't find any results matching 'leadcart'", and LeadCart's own website is still live but frozen: it still says "Get Your Early Access Now", still claims 1,760 entrepreneurs, and its footer copyright reads 2019 to 2020. If you already own it, nothing on AppSumo protects a purchase this old. If you are shopping for a checkout tool now, skip to the live alternatives below.

The useful part is not really about LeadCart. It is how to tell, in about five minutes, whether the lifetime deal in front of you is one AppSumo stands behind or one it explicitly does not. That distinction is printed on every listing, most buyers never read it, and it is the difference between a full credit and nothing at all.

What can actually be verified today

Search for this deal and you will find a row of lifetime deal blogs stating that LeadCart shut down in January 2022 with no refunds and no migration path. That may well be true. We could not verify it on any primary source, so we are not going to repeat it as fact. Here is what we could check directly, and you can repeat every one of these in a browser right now:

  • AppSumo's catalogue search returns zero results for the term leadcart. Not an archived listing, not an expired deal page. Nothing.
  • leadcart.io still loads. The marketing site is intact, complete with testimonials, a six template gallery and a call to action reading "Get Your Early Access Now".
  • Its footer copyright line stops at 2019 to 2020. The customer count on the page, 1,760, is the same number in every section.
  • The application subdomain returns an empty page. No login form, no error, no content.

That is what the end of a lifetime deal usually looks like from the outside. There is rarely an announcement. There is a marketing site that keeps running because nobody cancelled the hosting, an app that quietly stops answering, and a copyright year that never moves. The footer year and the app subdomain will tell you faster than the blog posts will.

Why the AppSumo URL tells you nothing

There is a check that looks convincing and is worthless, and it is worth naming because a lot of roundups lean on it. If you visit the old product URL at appsumo.com/products/leadcart, you get redirected to the AppSumo homepage. It feels like proof that the deal is dead.

It is not. We invented a product slug that has never existed, made of random characters, and requested it the same way. It redirected to the identical homepage. AppSumo sends every unrecognised product path to the homepage, so a typo and a discontinued tool produce exactly the same result. The redirect tells you a slug is not currently listed. It tells you nothing about whether a company still exists.

The instrument that does work is the catalogue search, because a zero result is a positive statement from AppSumo's own index rather than a default fallback. Use the search box, not the URL bar.

What lifetime means in AppSumo's own words

AppSumo is unusually direct about this in its help centre, and the wording matters. A lifetime deal buys you access "for the lifetime of the product", not for yours. AppSumo describes itself as a third party reseller that cannot "always control what happens on the partner side of the things", and states plainly that it does "not endorse or guarantee any of their Products nor do we assume any liability for them".

The same page carries two numbers that cut in opposite directions. AppSumo cites an estimate that 92 percent of SaaS companies fail within their first three years, and then says that of the thousands of tools launched on AppSumo, only around 5 percent have gone under. Both are AppSumo's own figures rather than independent ones, so treat them as the house telling you the odds at its own table. The direction is still useful: vetting clearly filters something, and it does not filter everything.

A second piece of small print catches people years later. AppSumo's expired deals page explains that the code you buy is a coupon, and that "while your access to the product can last a lifetime, the coupon itself has an expiration date". Redemption happens on the partner's website, so an unredeemed code from a dead company is worth nothing. Redeem on the day you buy.

Browse what is actually live on AppSumo today and you will see this language sitting on the listings themselves.

The guarantee that covers some deals and not others

AppSumo's protection for a tool that shuts down is called the We Got Your Back guarantee, and the version published as we write this was last updated on 31 August 2026. It is more generous than it used to be and narrower than most people assume.

The store sorts products into tiers. Select products are hand picked and vetted. LaunchPad products are lightly vetted with real sales behind them. Radar products are brand new and, in AppSumo's words, have "been scanned for safety but have not gone through a full vetting process". What you get when a tool dies depends on which tier it was in and whether you held AppSumo Plus, sold at 12 dollars a month, 99 a year, or 199 a year for Pro Annual:

  • Plus members can get AppSumo Credits for 100 percent of the purchase price when a Select or LaunchPad product closes inside the coverage period.
  • Non members can get 50 percent, and only on Select products, and only if the closure happens within 12 months of purchase.
  • Radar products get nothing once the refund window passes, for members and non members alike.
  • A non member whose LaunchPad tool closes gets nothing either.

Three details decide whether any of this reaches you. Credits are AppSumo Credits and are "not exchangeable for cash". The coverage period is 12 months for most purchases and 24 months only if you bought while holding Plus Pro Annual, and it is fixed on the day you buy, so upgrading later does not extend cover on anything you already own. And you must email support within 30 days of the closure date, which is the day AppSumo posts the announcement on the product page. Nobody emails you. You have to be looking.

Two live listings, same words, opposite protection

You can check this in two browser tabs. We opened two lifetime deals live on the same day.

The first, a funnel analytics tool, shows this under the buy button: "Lifetime access. Refundable up to 60 days. Covered by our We Got Your Back guarantee. Carefully selected by AppSumo for quality, performance, and support."

The second, a checkout tool, shows this under its buy button: "Lifetime access. Refundable up to 60 days. No We Got Your Back guarantee." AppSumo then explains that the listing "is managed by the partner who built the product", that "we haven't vetted it", and that "this guarantee doesn't apply".

Same marketplace, same phrase "Lifetime access", same 60 day refund, and completely opposite treatment if the company folds in month 14. Neither listing is dishonest. The second one is telling you the truth in the place almost nobody reads. The guarantee document itself says each deal's sales page "will specify whether or not it is eligible", which means the answer is always there if you look for it.

AppSumo's vetting notes add a telling detail: its business development managers watch for red flags such as a partner having "less than 12-24 months of runway or little to no MRR", using what AppSumo calls a "partner stability calculator". That screening is real, and it runs on the Select track. It does not run on the tier that carries no guarantee.

The five minute check before you buy any lifetime deal

Run these in order. They cost nothing and they would have flagged most of the deals people regret.

  • Read the line under the buy button. Does it say covered by the guarantee, or does it say the listing is partner managed and not vetted? This is the single highest value sentence on the page.
  • Check the tier caps, not just the price. Lifetime does not mean unlimited. One checkout deal sells "Lifetime access" on a plan capped at 250,000 dollars of lifetime sales, with subscriptions and automations gated to the third tier. The word lifetime is doing two jobs in one listing.
  • Open the vendor's own site and look at the footer year, then the changelog or updates feed. A product that has shipped nothing in two years is a product in maintenance at best.
  • Read the questions tab, not the reviews tab. Reviews are mostly from launch week. Unanswered recent questions are the better signal.
  • Redeem the code the day it arrives, and actually test the tool inside the refund window. AppSumo says outright that the refund window is the only point at which your purchase is fully protected.

What is live if you need a checkout today

If you wanted what LeadCart sold, a hosted checkout with order bumps and one click upsells, the category is well served on AppSumo right now. At the time of writing the store lists a checkout and digital products platform at 89 dollars for a single code, positioned against ClickFunnels, Gumroad and SamCart, with embeddable pop up and inline checkouts, order bumps, one click upsells, cart abandonment recovery and an affiliate system. There is also a WooCommerce subscriptions tool around 69 dollars and an invoicing tool with hosted checkout around 29 dollars.

Prices and availability change constantly, which is why this article publishes no table of them. Check the current listings and their guarantee status, and apply the five checks above to whichever one you land on.

If traffic arrives and nothing happens to it, the checkout is rarely the bottleneck. See our Shopify app review work for the storefront side, or our AI automation services if the gap sits between the sale and the next conversation.

Bottom line

The LeadCart lifetime deal is gone, and how it ended matters less than what it illustrates. Lifetime deals are not a scam and the economics can be excellent. They are an unsecured bet on one small company, and AppSumo has now written down in public exactly how much of that bet it will cover and on which tiers. The buyers who get burned are rarely the ones who read that page. They are the ones who saw the phrase "Lifetime access" and assumed it meant the same thing on every listing.

It does not. Check the line under the buy button.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. AppSumo's catalogue search returns no results for leadcart, and the old product URL redirects to the AppSumo homepage. Note that the redirect on its own proves nothing, because AppSumo sends any unrecognised product path to the homepage, including slugs that never existed. The zero result in the search index is the meaningful signal.

LeadCart's marketing site at leadcart.io still loads, but it looks dormant rather than active. It still invites you to request early access, still cites 1,760 users, and its footer copyright reads 2019 to 2020. The application subdomain returns an empty page. Various lifetime deal blogs say the company shut down in January 2022, but we could not confirm that on a primary source, so we are not stating it as fact.

It depends on the product tier and your membership. Under AppSumo's We Got Your Back guarantee, updated 31 August 2026, Plus members can receive AppSumo Credits for 100 percent of the price when a Select or LaunchPad product closes within the coverage period, and non members can receive 50 percent on Select products closing within 12 months. Radar products carry no credits once the refund window passes. Credits are store credit and are not exchangeable for cash.

The listing says so directly under the buy button. A covered deal reads 'Covered by our We Got Your Back guarantee' alongside a note that AppSumo selected it for quality, performance and support. An uncovered one states that there is no guarantee, that the listing is managed by the partner who built the product, and that AppSumo has not vetted it. The guarantee document confirms that each sales page specifies eligibility.

No. AppSumo defines it as access for the lifetime of the product, not your lifetime, and describes itself as a third party reseller that does not guarantee partner products or assume liability for them. Separately, the redemption code itself carries an expiry date even though access does not, which is why you should redeem and test a purchase immediately rather than leaving the code sitting in your account.

The hosted checkout category is well covered on AppSumo today, including a checkout and digital products platform around 89 dollars for one code that positions itself against ClickFunnels, Gumroad and SamCart, a WooCommerce subscriptions tool around 69 dollars, and an invoicing tool with hosted checkout around 29 dollars. Availability and pricing change frequently, so check the current listing and, more importantly, check whether it carries the We Got Your Back guarantee before buying.
