HubSpot and OpenAI Will Match $750 of ChatGPT Ad Spend Until 30 September

September 18, 2026. HubSpot and OpenAI are offering to pay for your first ChatGPT Ads test, and the offer has a real deadline on it. The AI Growth Bundle, announced on 16 September, includes a $750 match on ChatGPT Ads spend for new accounts opened by 30 September. That is twelve days. The two other components of the bundle have no date attached at all, which is the part worth reading carefully before you sign anything.

What is in the bundle

HubSpot's announcement lists three components.

  1. HubSpot Starter and HubSpot credits at up to 65% off for one year. Note both qualifiers. "Up to" sets a ceiling rather than a rate, and "for one year" sets an expiry.
  2. A buy one get one free offer on ChatGPT Business seats for a year. Same shape: a twelve month discount on a per seat subscription.
  3. A $750 match on ChatGPT Ads spend for new accounts opened by September 30. This is the only component carrying a date, and HubSpot marks it with an asterisk pointing at the bundle page for terms.

It arrives alongside the integration itself. HubSpot describes launching "the first CRM integration with ChatGPT Ads for customers to build, manage, and measure campaigns directly in HubSpot", so campaign creation, reporting and lead follow up stay inside the CRM.

The only hard deadline is the ad match

This matters more than it looks. A software discount running for one year can usually be negotiated later, because the vendor would rather discount than lose the deal. A spend match tied to opening an account by a fixed date cannot, because its purpose is to compress the decision.

So the honest reading of the 30 September date is that it is a deadline on the experiment, not on the platform. If you were going to test paid placement in ChatGPT this quarter anyway, $750 of matched spend is a reason to bring it forward. If you were not, the date is somebody else's urgency.

What the discount is priced against

Two things to check before the clock runs out.

First, the HubSpot discount is on Starter, the entry tier, and it is expressed as credits plus a percentage off for twelve months. The renewal is the number that decides whether this was cheap. Work out the year two list price for the seats and credits you will actually be using by then, not the ones you are buying now, because credit consumption tends to rise once AI features are switched on.

Second, ChatGPT Ads is a young channel with no independent measurement layer. The matched spend buys data about your own funnel, and its value depends entirely on whether you can read it. That is the argument for taking the bundle through the CRM: campaigns are measured and leads followed up where your other channels already report. Attribution is what makes a new channel defensible to a client or a board.

Separate the ads story from the visibility story. Paid placement inside ChatGPT is a different problem, with different economics, from being cited by it organically. We treat the second as AI search optimisation, and no ad budget substitutes for it.

What it means for operators

For an agency, treat the bundle as a funded pilot for one client rather than a procurement decision for all of them. Pick the account with the cleanest attribution, open the ads account before 30 September, and spend the matched budget learning what a ChatGPT sourced lead is worth against your existing channels.

For an SMB buying it directly, the question is simpler. Were you already going to move onto HubSpot Starter? If yes, a twelve month discount plus matched ad spend is a good month to do it. If no, a discount on software you did not need is still an expense, and the second year arrives at full price with your data inside it.

Either way, read the bundle page rather than the press release. HubSpot's own footnote on the $750 match says only "See bundle page for more details", which means the terms that decide whether you qualify are not in the announcement. Our lead generation and AI automation work starts from the same place: the offer is the headline, the terms are the product.

A joint offer announced on 16 September 2026. It combines HubSpot Starter and HubSpot credits at up to 65% off for one year, a buy one get one free offer on ChatGPT Business seats for a year, and a $750 match on ChatGPT Ads spend for new accounts opened by 30 September 2026.

Only the ad spend match. HubSpot states the $750 match applies to new accounts opened by September 30, with an asterisk directing readers to the bundle page for details. The HubSpot discount and the ChatGPT Business seat offer are described as running for one year, with no stated cutoff for signing up.

Yes. HubSpot describes itself as launching the first CRM integration with ChatGPT Ads, letting customers build, manage and measure campaigns directly in HubSpot. OpenAI's own announcement names HubSpot as its first CRM partner and Shopify as its first ecommerce partner.

It depends on whether HubSpot Starter was already on your roadmap. The discount is on the entry tier and lasts twelve months, so the renewal price is the number that decides the economics. The matched ad spend is worth taking if you have the attribution in place to learn something from it.
