For a fixed handful of datacenter IPs, Webshare is the cheapest credible option, at $2.99 a month for 100 shared proxies and 10 free ones to start. For dedicated IPs on a budget, IPRoyal is $1.39 per IP on a 90 day term, and Oxylabs' three IP minimum at $6.75 plus five free IPs is the lowest entry ticket to a tier one provider. For scale, geography and a catalogue that goes beyond proxies, Bright Data is the one we use, at $1.40 per shared IP for 10 or $0.42 per GB at 5 TB. We priced all five providers from their own pages on September 5, 2026, and every one of them advertises a floor you cannot buy at the entry tier.
Datacenter proxies: what you are actually buying
A datacenter proxy is an IP address that belongs to a hosting company rather than a home internet connection. That makes it fast, stable and cheap, and it also makes it the easiest kind of proxy for a website to detect, because the whole subnet is visibly commercial. Every provider on this list says a version of the same thing in its own FAQ: use datacenter IPs for targets without serious anti bot systems, such as price monitoring, SERP checks, most public directories and your own applications, and switch to residential or an unblocker for protected sites. Decodo's FAQ is the bluntest: datacenter proxies on Shopify are "sitting ducks".
Providers sell the same product on three meters. Per IP, shared is the cheapest, and the IP is used by other customers. Per IP, dedicated is yours alone and costs two to ten times more. Per GB gives you rotation across a large pool and charges for traffic. Every per IP plan that says "unlimited bandwidth" carries a fair use cap, and the cap is usually 100 GB per IP per month.
Webshare: cheapest shared IPs, 10 free
Webshare's datacenter product is called Proxy Server, and its entry price is not a trick: 10 proxies free, forever, then 100 shared proxies for $2.99 a month, 1,000 for $29.90 ($26.91 on annual billing), 5,000 for $149.50 and 60,000 for $1,794. The checkout for the 100 proxy plan carries a 250 GB bandwidth allowance, so the cap is on traffic rather than per IP. Private proxies (one user per IP, Webshare's term) run $0.30 per IP from 20 IPs at $6, and dedicated proxies are listed at $0.77 per IP. The meta description's "from $0.018/IP" is the 60,000 proxy annual rate; the page's real entry price is $0.03 per IP, which is still the lowest on this list by a wide margin. What you give up: a smaller published pool and less granular targeting than the tier one vendors. For a scraper that hits unprotected sites and needs a few hundred rotating addresses, this is where we start.
Decodo: the cleanest per GB ladder, 14 day refund
Decodo, formerly Smartproxy, sells datacenter three ways and prints all three honestly on one comparison table: pay per GB from $0.60 (10 GB for $6) down to $0.45 (1 TB for $450), pay per IP from $0.10 per IP with a 100 IP minimum plus a traffic allowance, and dedicated from $2.50 per IP in only four locations, the US, UK, Germany and Japan. It is also the only provider here with a plain money back window, 14 days. The one thing to catch: the navigation says datacenter "from $0.02/IP", the comparison table says pay per IP "from $0.10/IP", and the $0.02 is the volume end of a ladder the page does not show. Shared IPs come from a 100,000 plus pool with 18 countries listed across the Americas, Europe and APAC.
IPRoyal: dedicated only, priced by term length
IPRoyal does not sell shared datacenter IPs at all, which is a deliberate position and a good one if you need addresses nobody else is burning. Its dedicated proxies are $1.57 per IP on a 30 day term, $1.48 on 60 days and $1.39 on 90 days, with state and city targeting, 60 plus locations, HTTP(S) and SOCKS5, and a published 100 GB per IP monthly allowance pooled across the order, after which speed is reduced rather than access cut. The "from $1.39/proxy" in the navigation is the 90 day price; the month to month price is $1.57. That is still cheaper than a dedicated IP from Bright Data ($2.20 at 10 IPs), Oxylabs ($2.25) or Decodo ($2.50), so for a dedicated address on a budget IPRoyal is the number to beat. Oxylabs: five free IPs and a three IP minimum
Oxylabs is the easiest tier one provider to try: five free datacenter IPs on signup, then dedicated at $2.25 per IP from 3 IPs ($6.75 a month) across 188 countries from a 1.9 million IP pool, shared per IP at $1.20 from 10 IPs ($12), and shared per GB at $0.59 from 20 GB ($11.80) up to 2 TB. Self service plans are refundable within three days if you have used under 20 percent. The navigation's "from $0.70/IP" did not appear on the pricing page at any quantity up to 3,000, so treat $1.20 shared and $2.25 dedicated as the real entry prices. If you want a tier one vendor's support, uptime page and compliance material for a small job, this is the cheapest way in.
Bright Data: three meters, the biggest pool, the widest catalogue
Bright Data's datacenter page, updated September 1, 2026, sells a 1.3 million IP pool on all three meters: shared $1.40 per IP for 10 IPs ($14) down to $0.90 at 1,000, dedicated $2.20 down to $1.30, and per GB at $0.60 pay as you go down to $0.42 on the 5 TB, $1,999 plan. Fair use is 100 GB per IP per month, pooled. Two cautions from its own page: the navigation's "from $0.90/IP" is the 1,000 IP rate, and the meta description's "starting from $0.077/GB" does not appear anywhere on the page. The spread on shared IPs is 40 to 1 between Webshare and the tier one vendors, and it is real. The spread on dedicated IPs is under 2 to 1. The spread on per GB traffic is almost nothing. So the buying rule is simple: if you need cheap shared addresses, the tier one premium buys you nothing you can measure; if you need dedicated addresses or traffic, pick on support, refund policy and geography, because the prices are within a few dollars.
How to choose in 2026
- Read the card, not the menu. Five of five providers here quote a navigation price that is a volume or long term rate. Webshare $0.018, Decodo $0.02, IPRoyal $1.39, Oxylabs $0.70, Bright Data $0.90: none is the entry price.
- Find the fair use line. 100 GB per IP is the norm, pooled across the order. Divide your monthly traffic by that before you decide per IP is cheaper than per GB.
- Match the meter to the bottleneck. Fixed identities need dedicated IPs; rotation needs per GB; a few hundred cheap addresses for unprotected targets need shared.
- Know when to stop. If success rates on a target drop below 90 percent, you are paying for retries; move that target to residential or an unblocker rather than buying more datacenter IPs.
